As to the location, Kalathos is tucked halfway down the east coast road, bringing many of the island’s famous historic sights within easy reach. Regular buses run from Kalathos go to Lindos, just 10 minutes away. Here you can visit the ancient Temple of Athena and the old fortifications built by the Knights of St John. Rhodes town is about an hour’s bus ride and is well worth the effort. Its well preserved Medieval citadel is an absolute must see.

Take a leisurely walk down to Kalathos beach, approximately 15 minutes walk from the village, and enjoy the peace and sea swimming.The beach at Kalathos is used by local Greek people and remains unspoilt with a scattering of sunbeds and a small taverna serving refreshments. Sandy bays can be found at nearby Vlicha and Lindos. Charaki is a nearby traditional greek fishing village, just 5 mins drive away, with its many excellent tavernas on the front where you can enjoy a fresh fish & cool beer whilst listening to the sound of the sea!!
